Meet our Family


Don and Maureen Kennedy

In 1978, Don and Maureen Kennedy began their adventure in coffee when they started La Casa del Caffe, a small coffee-roasting business in Greystanes. Since then, the family business has increased 10-fold and outgrown its premises three times!

Don learned how to roast coffee in the traditional Italian way and that, coupled with his friendly and laid back style, helped La Casa develop into what it is today – a unique blend of traditional friendly values with superior fresh roasted coffee. We have restaurants who have been with us for 30 years which we believe is a testament to how this unique blend works.

Don’s brother Peter, and brother-in-law Tony, manage the production and have decades of roasting, blending and packaging experience between them.

 

The Next Generation

The Kennedy children have grown up within the family coffee roasting business and have absorbed the values of their father, for producing outstanding coffee and service in what has become a family tradition. Louise, Therase, Brett and Nicole, are all involved in La Casa del Caffe and are passionate about producing the very best quality coffee.

Our Coffee

La Casa del Caffe has been supplying premium coffee since 1978 and we pride ourselves on the quality and consistency of our coffee. Our coffee is roasted by in-house professionals with years of acquired coffee wisdom.  Each and every roast is tasted to ensure the roast is right and the blend is perfectly balanced.  This gives us the consistency we expect and our customers deserve.

 

We supply our premium coffees to all areas of Australia, for cafes and restaurants, pubs and clubs, coffee carts and for those who want quality coffee at home.

 

La Casa del Caffe roasts a full range of traditional blends and Decaf. Tropicana is our signature blend, an Italian style espresso blended from a selection of only “A” grade green beans including more than 30% Rainforest Alliance Certified beans.  We supply many different blends including French, Italian, Tazza D’oro and our Rainforest Blend produced from 100% Rainforest Alliance Certified green beans.

 

In addition, our steadfast partnership with our equipment manufacturers ensures we can offer our clients better value, quality equipment and service and complete transparency in our pricing.

 

All areas of La Casa del Caffe’s business now comply with the rules and regulations of HACCP, Australia’s food safety watchdog.  This means that our premises, our roasting and packaging processes and our distribution and warehousing all meet these standards.  La Casa del Caffe is a member of the Australian Coffee Traders Associations Inc.
